Last updated at 09:27

The WBW Cashiers Department has been awarded an accolade by Property Search Group, Plymouth (PSG).

On the 26th April, PSG, celebrated administrative professionals from across the country by hosting a ‘National Administrative Professionals Day’. A day in which companies can celebrate all those in roles who ensure their departments run smoothly.

The cashiers department were nominated for the ‘National Professional Administrative Day Award’ by Tracey Pearce, property partner at WBW Solicitors. Tracey nominated the team in recognition of their continued dedication and hard work.

The cashiers’ team were unaware they had been nominated for the award, let alone that they’d won. The Director of PSG, Martin Gill and his colleague, Jessica Davis, visited the Newton Abbot office on Monday 15th May to surprise the team and present them with the award.

Tracey Pearce, property partner at WBW said: "As part of a busy conveyancing practice I could not do my job without my cashiers’ department – they work extremely hard and particularly over the last few months due to an expanding work force. I thought the award would be just the recognition and pat on the back they needed to let them know they are very much appreciated. It was worth keeping it a surprise as a cheer up on a wet and grey Monday!”

WBW Solicitors has undergone two mergers within the last six months, creating one of the largest legal practices in the South West. With six offices, across both Devon & Cornwall the workload for the cashiers department has increased significantly.

As part of their prize, PSG awarded the team with a framed certificate, £250 towards a well-deserved team outing and a bottle of fizz each.

She has worked for me for 19 years since she started at the firm (Previously Peter Peter and Sons before they merged with Langsford Davies and following the merger of Peter Langsford Davies with WBW at the beginning of the year). She takes my files on from exchange of contract, prepares the statements and handles completion and registration meaning that I can then concentrate on my other files progressing them towards exchange. When I went on maternity leave 10 years ago she with the help of a locum kept everything running and retained many of my returning clients. Heather always goes the extra mile, she will come in early and stay on late if something is urgent. The volume of work she gets through too is phenomenal. We work well as a team and the feedback we receive from clients about Heather is fantastic!"
