Yorkshire Law Society CPD - GDPR and AML Update

We are delighted to be working with the Yorkshire Lawyer Society to bring you two informative training sessions this March and April.

The first session will take place on the 7th March from 9am at the offices of Lupton Fawcett Solicitors in York. The session will give you two hours of CPD/training and will feature the following seminars.

 

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) - Norman Denton, Legal Eye 

There are only a few months to go until 25th May deadline and all organisations must get ready for 

the launch of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In the hour available, Norman Denton will be considering GDPR compliance from the perspective of a law firm. We will cover: 

• What GDPR means;
• How it differs from the existing Data Protection Act;
• What it means in practical terms;
• Where you need to start;
• What are the common discoveries;
• What happens if things go wrong.

 

 

AML Update - Renu Kiran, PSG

Renu Kiran from PSG will present an overview of the 4th Money Laundering Directive and the solutions available from PSG to help you remain compliant. 

In this one-hour session we will look specifically at your obligations under the latest Money Laundering Directive. We will cover:

• Why is Money Laundering a Key Risk?
• What is Money Laundering, how it relates to you - the offences.
• What is a Risk Based Approach?
• PSG's enhanced AML and Bank Account Checking Solution in partnership with global data intelligence experts GBG
