This session will take place in Stoke at the Moat House Hotel (directions here) and is worth 3 CPD points.
The event aims to bring you up to date with what is happening in our industry and will feature the following seminars.
Planning, Energy & Infrastructure
Vanessa Moscardo-Parker from Landmark will present 1 hour CPD
Nobody wants to buy a property only to find soon afterwards that there is going to be a development or change in infrastructure which could severely affect the use and enjoyment of the property as well as its value.
Solicitors have always carried out local authority, CON 29, searches - but these provide very little information outside of the subject property.
This session provides conveyancers with the latest planning policies and legislation, planning changes, major energy and infrastructure projects and their potential impact on homes and businesses. It will also demonstrate how to provide clients with information and advice that will assist in their understanding of planning issues.
This session will include:
• Understanding these issues in residential and commercial transactions including Bird & Bird case
• Planning Policy and legislation
• Energy projects – wind farms, solar farms, fracking, renewable power plants and carbon capture and storage
• Infrastructure projects – HS2, London Cross Rail etc.
Local Planning Policy - an insight
Robert Weaver from Staffordshire Moorlands District Council will present 1 hour CP
This session will provide a rare insight into planning from the Local Authority perspective. This is a 'not to be missed' opportunity for all fee earners from both residential and commercial practices to gain a greater understanding of planning policy in their area.
