We'll look at:

A ‘Practical Session’ using a number of local samples to explore risks and next steps in the NEW Groundsure residential Environmental Searches and Updates. - Nick Treble, Groundsure

Nick Treble from Groundsure presents this 1 hour update.

It’s sometimes difficult to determine which Environmental report is suited to which Residential transaction. Understanding what each report covers and what’s included in each search is always handy, so you can make sure your due diligence is covered and your client is receiving the necessary information for their purchase. This session aims to help you understand:

 We will cover:

  • How Groundsure produce the reports
  • What to do if the report highlights a risk
  • Information on Environmental risks and what to advise your client
  • The reports available and what each one covers

About Nick Treble

Nick  has been a Groundsure account manager since January 2015. In this role he works closely with the conveyancing industry to provide solicitors, conveyancers and home buyers with up-to-date information on the full range of conveyancing risks, and how to identify them through data and desktop searches. His detailed knowledge comes from his training and his time spent working on the consultancy side of the Groundsure business. As a consultant he focused on the analysis of risks such as contaminated land, flooding, subsidence, HS2, London Underground (inc Crossrail), energy, planning and Japanese knotweed.

Nick is passionate about providing clients with the complete picture on risks affecting land and property transactions and an expert at interpreting the ever-improving data that is available.

Nick graduated from Brighton University with an MSc in GIS and Environmental Management and a BSc in Physical Geography.

Managing Risks – What lies beneath?

Tim Longden from Terrafirma presents this 1 hour update.

Learn when, where and how mining and ground risk assessment should be used and learn more about the hidden legacy of UK mineral extraction and how interpretation of data is essential in both understanding and acting upon the potential risks the ground poses.

About Tim Longden

Tim has been with Terrafirma for over a year, having started while completing his Master’s degree in geology at the University of Bristol. Upon completion, Tim then occupied the role of Head of Business Partnerships at Terrafirma and endeavours to provide educational talks on the varied and many risks the ground poses. Tim pursues an ambition of changing the way in which we perceive, identify and act upon environmental risks to better manage and resolve the problems that are increasing in occurrence across the UK.
