An NCSC survey found that over 60% of law firms had suffered from a cyber-attack in the last year but only 20% had provided cyber security training for their staff. Most instances of cyber crime target people rather than systems. The best defence is to train your staff (as recommended by the SRA and CLC). Beyond Transparency: How to stand out in a level playing field
On the 6th of December 2018 the new Transparency rules came into force for SRA and CLC regulated law firms (14th January for CILEx regulated firms). The rules require all law firms to display price and service information on their websites. For law firms, the challenge in 2019 is how to stand out in a transparent marketplace. Title insurance is an essential part of risk management. 20% of all residential property transactions now involve the purchase of at least one legal indemnity policy. This CPD provides an overview of the main policies together with some useful case studies and online solutions to help fulfil your client due diligence.
