CON29 Delays are unavoidable for many

Last updated at 11:40

Today is D day for the new CON29 format introduced by The Law Society.

Over the last couple of months PSG has been in communication with all 326 Local Authorities in England and Wales to find out the state of readiness of each to produce the new CON29 and also provide access to the raw data.

The responses are far from clear and indeed there are many Land Charges offices that are closed this week in order to implement the changes.  There will inevitably be some delays in both Council and Regulated Searches.

Most questions on the CON29 have been amended and updated in line with legislation, but the new form also includes some additional enquiries that conveyancers should be aware of. These include:

  • Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)
  • Assets of Community Value
  • SuDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems)

In addition to this the previously optional enquiry Public Paths and Byways has now been included in the CON29 as a standard enquiry.

The New PSG Local Search

The PSG Regulated Local Search has been updated to reflect the changes in the standard CON 29 enquiries and we have taken the opportunity to modernise the look and feel of how we present the data to you.

The new search features a front page summary meaning you can see which sections you need to focus on at a single glance and so saving you extra time.

For more details or to request a sample of our new look Regulated Search contact your local office or get in touch with the national customer services team on 01226 246644 or email customerservices@propertysearchgroup.co.uk
